Set against a backdrop of journalistic misinformation and broken morals, journalist Annie and divorcee Beth have their friendship put to the ultimate test when Annie encourages Beth to embark on an affair with husband Carl, beginning with a dirty weekend away.

Unbeknownst to Annie, teenage daughter Darcy is aware of her mum’s manoeuvring and becomes a self appointed moral overseer of the proceedings.

When Beth’s ex-husband, John, appears, the surfacing of a dark secret puts Annie’s plans in jeopardy.

Each character’s ‘truth’ unravels as more is revealed about the eponymous Carl. Under sudden pressure, both women are forced to face up to the past, a past in which they have been nothing less than loose with the truth!

Isla Theatre with Gavin Miller

We are now in our third season of collaboration with Gavin Miller. The first season together saw the sell out run of Miller’s comedy One Table Four Conversations, which debuted at Café Teatre Antiquari in Palma, Mallorca (2016) and the following year was performed in Helsinki.

Next, came parts in Miller’s short film, Beer and Nuts (2016), which reached the final cut of ten at the prestigious Port Adriano film festival.

The formidable stage partnership of Jenny Whiffen and Emma Bernbach inspired Miller to write Carl’s Story, which debuted in Palma in 2017. After another sell out run and excellent reviews, they are embarking on a short tour of East Anglia (early 2019) immediately followed by a month’s run (March 7-30, 2019) at the Tabard Theatre in Chiswick, London.
