"I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being." - Oscar Wilde

Saskia Guanche Diaz was born in Havana Cuba in 1978.

Her family was influencial at introducing her to both Theatre and the Arts from an early age and she started working professionally for Cuban TV at 8 years old. She graduated from the Cuban National Arts School (ENA) in 1998 and immediately began her professional career with varied roles in tv, theatre and film.

In 2002 she arrived in Madrid working with Spanish TV on Tele Madrid, Antena 3, Tele 5, and Morena Film. For 4 years she was part of the theatre company “Ados Teatro” following which she began to develop a psychodrama for actors living for a year in Bogota, Columbia and a second living in Buenos Aires.

Her wish is to develop an Independent Theatre Project where Theatre and the Arts are at the forefront of every production, be it on stage, in education or to the corporate world. To this end she found herself on the marvellous island of Mallorca with Emma Bernbach Carter and Jenny Whiffen where together they have founded ISLA theatre Project.
